Join YouthGive this summer on a 3-week trip through Zambia and South Africa. Learn about water resource challenges, efforts to eradicate malaria and how microfinance is helping to alleviate global poverty. Using the power tools of our generation - digital technology & social media - and tapping our cultural connections to sports, music & art, how can we inspire our generation to work together to leverage real solutions? Trip participants are equipped with Flip video cameras to capture digital stories to share what we learned.
YouthGive launched its first travel philanthropy trip to Africa in 2008 (see video below). Teens visited key non-governmental organizations, met Africa’s young social entrepreneurs, participated and spoke at a major Youth & Microfinance conference in Cape Town, distributed anti-malaria mosquito bed nets to a rural school in Zambia, and learned how ecotourism makes a difference at a Safari reserve.
